("we", "us", "our"), operates the prettypdfprinter.com website, the Pretty PDF Printer Chrome extension, and the Pretty PDF API (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.
Information we collect
We collect information in three ways:
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name via our authentication provider (Supabase Auth). We do not store your password directly.
- Webpage content. When you generate a PDF, the HTML content of the webpage is sent to our servers for processing. We use this content solely to generate your PDF and do not retain the raw HTML after processing is complete.
- Generated PDFs. If you use cloud storage (Pro+ and above), your generated PDFs are stored on our servers and accessible only to you.
- Usage data. We collect anonymous usage metrics such as the number of PDFs generated, templates used, and feature usage to improve the Service.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to collect standard web analytics data (pages visited, browser type, referring URLs). This data is aggregated and not tied to your identity.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Process your PDF generation requests
- Manage your account and subscription
- Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, billing receipts)
- Monitor usage to enforce rate limits and prevent abuse
- Respond to support requests
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate:
- Supabase Auth — authentication and account management
- Paddle — payment processing and subscription billing. Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record and handles all payment data directly. We never see or store your credit card details.
- Google Analytics — anonymous website usage analytics
Data storage and security
Your data is stored on servers located in the United States. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication tokens, and access controls to protect your data.
Generated PDFs stored in your cloud library are accessible only through authenticated requests using your account credentials or API key.
Data retention
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- Cloud-stored PDFs are retained until you delete them or close your account.
- Processing data (raw HTML sent for PDF generation) is discarded immediately after your PDF is generated.
If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data and stored PDFs within 30 days.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your stored PDFs at any time

Chrome extension permissions
The Pretty PDF Printer Chrome extension requests the following permissions:
- activeTab — to access the content of the current tab when you click the extension icon
- storage — to save your preferences and settings locally
The extension only accesses page content when you explicitly click the extension icon or trigger a PDF generation. It does not run in the background or monitor your browsing activity.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
